West Ham may send a SOS call to Sam Allardyce as the club rushes to make arrangements to replace Slaven Bilic.
ClaretandHugh has discovered that alongside a plan to approach Guus Hiddink as a possible caretaker boss Allardyce too is in the frame for what would be a dramatic return to the club.
The Hammers have put out several calls to potential candidates but Hiddink and Allardyce are currently the most serious runners in the race to replace the Croatian.
The club fears that at 70 years of age Hiddink may not be interested in returning to the game after his last interim spell as Chelsea boss in 2016.
And we were told that although there were various balls in the air, Allardyce’s name was most definitely on one of them!
After his England departure and the ensuing spell at Palace Big Sam said he had no intention of seeking another job, in what was interpreted as a retirement announcement.
However in July he did a half u-turn saying he would be open to an international management position, but not another club job.
Whether he would be prepared to complete a full u turn remains to be seen as the Hammers make desperate moves to set their season on course.

One of the main problems at the moment is that the team don't know how they are supposed to play. There is no organisation and no plan. At least BFS would organise the team and they would play to a plan.

TBH we could do a lot worse than getting BFS back on a short contract till the end of the season to sort out the fcuking great mess that Bilic has created
The worst scenario is leaving Bilic in place for another few games to fcuk up even more than he's done already
I very much doubt that he'd agree to come back short term
It's all very well touting all these big name top managers but they will be used to managing a stable club with money to spend. At present everything about our club is toxic & it will take an awful lot of sorting out

Some of the comments on this thread are a disgrace. People have very short memories on here. BFS was everything that was wrong with West Ham, and I haven't forgotten that. I'd rather have David Sullivan as manager

No thank you.
We are not in a desperate position league-wise and we have a decent squad who are just under-performing and/or being poorly managed. Sam is good at a certain thing which right now we do not need. We just need someone who knows how to pick and set up our best team, lift the mood and get them playing together properly. A lot of that will probably happen naturally with a change in manager, unfortunately for Slav.
